TYPES OF HYPERHIDROSIS
There are two main types of hyperhidrosis:
Primary hyperhidrosis, which targets specific body areas as mentioned above. This type of excessive sweating is normally causes by overactive nerves and it requires treatment to reduce too much sweating. Primary hyperhidrosis often runs in families and is most likely triggered by genetics.
Secondary hyperhidrosis affects the entire body. It is mainly caused by an underlying medical condition such as diabetes, thyroid condition or menopause and is treated together with the underlining disease. To eliminate the possibility of a medical condition causing your excessive sweating, it is necessary to have a thorough examination by Rebecca before starting your treatment.
WHAT KIND OF TREATMENT WE OFFER AT FACE BY REBECCA
We offer a range of different treatments for hyperhidrosis. Muscle relaxants, which are also used in anti-ageing treatments, are among the most effective options. The relaxants prevent sympathetic nerves which control sweating from over-stimulating sweat glands. The effects of this treatment last between six and twelve months.
WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THIS TREATMENT?
We start with a thorough medical examination to eliminate any underlying medical condition that might be causing your excessive sweating. After that, we carefully clean the area that is to be treated with an antiseptic. If necessary, we use numbing cream as well. The treatment area is marked with a grid pattern to ensure even distribution of the medication. We use ice as an additional analgesia. Our clients report that the treatment is fairly comfortable.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECOVER FROM THE TREATMENT?
You might experience mild swelling and soreness in the treated area, but you will be able to resume your normal activities right after the treatment.
HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE RESULTS?
Some clients report immediate reduction in sweating in their problem areas, and the condition improves every day after that. You can expect full results in about four weeks. The effects of this treatment last between six and 12 months.
